Associate/Technical Director (Consultancy Design-Building)

About the role

We are seeking two Associate/Technical Directors to lead consultancy design‑build projects within a leading engineering consultancy. The role involves overseeing mechanical system design from concept through detailed execution while ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead conceptualisation, detailed design and rigorous checking of mechanical systems across various projects.
• Conduct comprehensive engineering analysis and develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
• Ensure all designs adhere to local codes, statutory regulations and authority requirements (e.g., BCA, SCDF, NEA).
• Oversee project planning, scheduling and delivery within scope, budget and time constraints.
• Manage financial aspects, contract administration and preparation of tender documents and technical specifications.
• Coordinate closely with main contractors, subcontractors and external consultants throughout the design process.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design within a consultancy for construction building projects.
• Qualified QP/PE considered for senior responsibilities.
• Experience with industrial or commercial building projects is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of local regulatory codes and authority submission requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM and Revit software.
• Ability to interpret and apply local building codes (BCA, SCDF, NEA).
