Biotechnologist, 2K (Mammalian)

About the role

Lonza is hiring a Biotechnologist for its Mammalian Manufacturing operations in Tuas, Singapore. You will contribute to the production of therapeutic proteins while gaining hands-on experience with advanced biotechnology processes in a cGMP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cGMP biomanufacturing activities, including equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting and documentation.
• Execute mammalian cell culture and purification processes, including bioreactor operations, chromatography and filtration.
• Monitor process parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen, CO2/O2 levels and cell performance.
• Operate and maintain process control systems such as UNICORN and DeltaV while keeping batch documentation accurate.
• Apply aseptic techniques and maintain cleanroom standards through sanitization and 6S housekeeping.
• Prepare buffers, media and customer-specific solutions and support equipment preparation and CIP activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Experience in a manufacturing, laboratory or cleanroom environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with cGMP practices and regulated manufacturing environments.
• Willingness to work in a rotating 12-hour shift pattern.
