Biotechnologist Trainee - Attach and Train Programme

About the role

The Attach & Train Programme is a structured talent development programme for Singapore's advanced biomedical manufacturing sector, built around practical, industry-based training. As a Biotechnologist Trainee, you will complete a 15-month on-the-job training programme within the Biologics Manufacturing team, working alongside experienced professionals to support the production of complex, cell-based medicines under high quality and compliance standards. Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Key responsibilities

• Support cGMP manufacturing operations for biologics drug substance according to quality and safety standards, production schedules and plans.
• Depending on your assigned area, support upstream (vial thaw, inoculation, cell culture and recovery), downstream (chromatography, filtration, ultrafiltration and final filling) or central services (buffer and media preparation, autoclave, glasswash, cleaning and raw material sampling).
• Execute assigned manufacturing operations, including equipment cleaning, set-up and stream-specific activities.
• Complete and review batch documentation for accuracy and completeness, and resolve documentation errors promptly.
• Support shift operations and troubleshooting, and report anomalous processing events to the Lead Biotechnologist or Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Maintain inventory, required training and overall plant readiness.
• Identify improvement opportunities and take part in continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Singapore citizenship or permanent residency.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Highly motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cGMP and manufacturing regulatory requirements is an advantage.
• Exposure to SAP, LIMS or MES through internships, projects or prior experience is an advantage.
