Building Technician – Semiconductor Industry

About the role

OAKTREE CONSULTING is seeking a senior‑level Building Technician to support the maintenance operations of a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Singapore. The role involves ensuring the reliability of critical mechanical and electrical systems while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems, chillers, pumps, fan coils, air handling units and associated controls.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical distribution panels, lighting, wiring, circuit breakers and emergency power systems.
• Respond to service requests and emergency breakdowns, diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out routine mechanical tasks such as pump seal replacement, valve servicing, lubrication, piping checks and minor fabrications.
• Execute safety checks for fire pumps, generators and emergency lighting, and coordinate major repairs with contractors.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventory usage and prepare work reports.
• Follow permit‑to‑work, lockout/tagout and safe work procedures while keeping the work area clean and organized.

Required profile

• ITE Certificate in Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Capacity to work under tight schedules and adapt to changing priorities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with internal customers.
• Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
