Community Development Manager (Community Volunteer)

About the role

The Constituency Office (CO) is looking for a Community Development Manager to support its community volunteer (CV) management. The role also acts as administrator and facilitator in forming, developing and consolidating Grassroots Organisations (GROs) at constituency level, promoting social cohesion, racial harmony and community bonding.

Key responsibilities

• Identify volunteering opportunities for CVs across sign-up platforms (referrals, Community Marketplace, CV Secretariat or PA units) and facilitate their engagement through projects
• Grow CV individuals, groups and networks at division level and match volunteers with opportunities and stakeholders
• Promote the CV scheme, share best practices and curate an archive of CV stories and materials
• Help identify training for staff, grassroots leaders and CVs, and update the local programme calendar
• Match and deploy CV-related resources such as CV grants, following internal checks, SOPs and templates
• Submit CV data templates and regular reports on CV management outcomes

Required profile

• Keen interest or experience in community work
• Interest in current affairs and national policies, keeping up with community news
• Able to write well in English
• Social media user who enjoys collaboration and networking
• Motivated team player

Required skills

• Knowledge of Mandarin, Malay or Tamil, with the ability to speak and proofread written text

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified, after a structured interview. Successful candidates receive a 3-year contract and are deployed to the CO/CC.
