Firewall Engineer

About the role

Sopra Steria, a listed European technology group with over 51,000 employees, is recruiting an experienced Firewall Engineer in Singapore to support a client, a well-established European investment bank. The role covers network security initiatives such as firewall design, implementation and project delivery, in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy firewall solutions, mainly using Fortinet technologies
• Lead or support end-to-end firewall projects, including new installations and architecture design
• Configure, maintain and optimise firewall policies according to security best practices
• Perform firewall rule reviews, audits and compliance checks
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors on security enhancements and infrastructure upgrades
• Troubleshoot and resolve firewall and network security issues
• Support change management, documentation and operational handover

Required profile

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in network security, focused on firewall technologies
• Proven experience deploying firewalls in enterprise environments
• Experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred
• Nice to have: familiarity with banking regulatory and compliance requirements, and exposure to network architecture design and security frameworks

Required skills

• Hands-on Fortinet (FortiGate) experience in design and/or implementation
• Fortinet certification (NSE4 or above)
• Understanding of VPNs, NAT, IPS and threat prevention
• Analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
