Geotechnical Qualified Person (QP) – Senior Role

About the role

Surbanajurong is looking for an experienced and registered Geotechnical Qualified Person (QP) to lead geotechnical design, verification and regulatory submissions for major infrastructure and building projects in Singapore. The role ensures compliance with local authority requirements while delivering safe and buildable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Geotechnical Qualified Person (QP) for submissions to authorities such as BCA, PUB and LTA.
• Lead design and review of foundations, deep excavations, retaining structures and ground improvement works.
• Oversee site investigations, interpret soil data and perform geotechnical analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review and endorse design calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and guide project teams.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and authorities on technical matters and approvals.
• Support, and when required act as Independent Checking Engineer (ICE) for geotechnical works.
• Identify and manage geotechnical risks, especially in complex ground conditions.
• Contribute to tender proposals, value engineering and project planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Singapore with Geotechnical specialization and QP status.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design and project delivery.
• Proven experience managing projects and interfacing with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
