Head of Project Finance – Asia

About the role

As Head of Project Finance Asia you’ll lead a specialist team delivering structured lending solutions for ANZ’s institutional and corporate customers. The role is a designated Material Risk Person (MRP) under MAS guidelines and supports the Senior Manager responsible for the core management function of project finance transactions at the Singapore branch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Asia Project Finance team, originating and executing transactions while overseeing performance, career development, mentoring, coaching, development plans and succession planning.
• Drive project finance opportunities across resources, energy, infrastructure, data centres and other priority sectors, contributing to global strategy and acting as the key contact for project finance in Asia.
• Build trusted customer relationships and collaborate with Business, Risk, frontline and enablement teams to deliver valuable outcomes and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Oversee sales, origination, credit analysis, financial modelling, term‑sheet and facility documentation, ensuring timely decisions, effective risk management, policy compliance and escalation of emerging credit concerns.
• Provide strong deal‑team leadership across diverse transaction structures, sectors and geographies, and mentor less‑experienced team members.

• Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills across cultures, geographies and technical teams.
• Sound knowledge of risk and compliance management frameworks with sound governance judgement.
• Strategic management and thought leadership backed by current knowledge of business strategy, products and competitors.
• Ability to work autonomously, respond to real‑time business demands and manage competing priorities.
• Capability to deliver targeted insights and practical solutions to complex issues, adding tangible value to project outcomes.
