iOS Software Developer (AI Mobile)

About the role

A stealth AI startup, backed by one of Southeast Asia's leading technology companies, is building its global founding team. It is developing an AI-native communication platform that integrates AI directly into conversations so users can plan, organize, compare, research and complete tasks in one intelligent assistant. The client is looking for an iOS Software Engineer to build and improve its AI-native mobile experience, working closely with backend and machine learning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain production iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, with AI interactions central to the user experience.
• Integrate AI-powered features through backend APIs.
• Design user experiences for AI interactions, including loading states, streaming responses, retries and fallback mechanisms.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage and battery efficiency.
• Implement user feedback and analytics mechanisms to support AI evaluation and continuous product improvement.
• Collaborate with backend and machine learning engineers on API design and system behavior.
• Maintain high standards of quality, stability and reliability for App Store releases.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of iOS development experience using Swift.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI-powered features into mobile applications.
• Solid experience optimizing iOS performance, memory usage and responsiveness, and releasing production apps.
• Familiarity with apps that work reliably under latency, partial failures and non-deterministic AI behavior.
• Strong understanding of UX design for AI-powered applications, emphasizing usability and user trust.

Required skills

• Swift and SwiftUI; strong understanding of async/await, concurrency and background task management.
• Preferred: CoreML or lightweight on-device machine learning, feature flags or remote configuration systems.
• Preferred: Swift Package Manager (SPM), SQL and NoSQL databases, TensorFlow Lite.
