Lead Engineer, MSAT - Purification

About the role

Lonza is hiring a Lead Engineer, MSAT - Purification for its Singapore production facility. This is an office-first role based in Tuas, with the flexibility to work remotely for 20% of the time (one day per week). The position leads process support for cell culture or purification stages of customers' manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, execution, monitoring and post-campaign activities for cell culture or purification stages, becoming proficient across multiple processes
• Monitor processes regularly, lead investigations into trends, issues or deviations across departments and customers, write change requests and drive their implementation
• Review purification batch records, give technical input to MFG document writers, and provide training materials for MFG operators
• Work with MFG to update batch records, support GMP and commercial runs, investigate excursions and help author technical reports for deviation close-out
• Support Annual Product Review (APR) and Continued Process Verification (CPV) summaries and customer BLA filings
• Maintain process databases, monitor batch-to-batch consistency, support customer and regulatory inspections and audits, mentor MSAT colleagues and uphold data integrity

Required profile

• Over 5 years of experience in biotechnology process development, process support, research or a related manufacturing environment
• Graduate degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, biological science or a related field
• Prior experience in the purification domain
