Maintenance Controller

About the role

Singapore Airlines is looking for a Maintenance Controller to join its Maintenance Operations department within the SIA Engineering Division. Reporting to the Manager Maintenance Operations, the role provides 24-hour round-the-clock technical advice and support to Technical Handling Agents servicing SIA and its subsidiary airlines' aircraft at all line stations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the technical status of aircraft in flight for defects or technical issues
• Give technical advice and recommendations to flight crews in flight and assist Technical Handling Agents at overseas stations in fixing defects at the first available ground time
• Work with Technical Handling Agents and other engineering departments, including the Operations Control Centre, on flight, flight delays and AOG situations
• Track AOG and station spare usage and spare loans
• Act as the focal point for engineering matters in SIA's daily operations
• Troubleshoot defects encountered at line stations
• Keep technical documents, paper and electronic versions, up to date
• Monitor planned and unplanned rectification work on night-stopped or stayover aircraft
• Generate reports on technical delays and aircraft ground incidents

Required profile

• Licensed Aircraft Engineer
• Line work experience, preferably 10 years
• Ability to work independently with strong planning and organisation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as the role involves interaction with many user departments
• Willingness to work shifts, 24/7
