Manager / Deputy Manager, Land

About the role

This role leads and oversees the end-to-end planning, coordination and management of land acquisition and securing of land for transport infrastructure projects. It also involves advising on land-related matters such as budgeting, cost management and compliance with regulatory policies and development guidelines, and mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the planning, coordination and management of land acquisition and securing of land for transport infrastructure projects.
• Advise on land matters, including budgeting, cost management and compliance with regulatory policies and development guidelines, escalating issues and proposing solutions.
• Work with government agencies, statutory boards and key stakeholders to resolve land matters, negotiate outcomes and advance project objectives.
• Use Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) to manage, analyse and visualise spatial data related to land and infrastructure assets.
• Maintain and update land and geospatial databases, maps and related documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, giving technical direction and supporting their professional development.

Required profile

• Knowledge of Real Estate, Land Management, Urban Planning, Geography, Geomatics or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in land management, land acquisition or infrastructure planning, with a track record of managing projects and leading cross-functional workstreams; prior infrastructure project experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, able to work with multiple agencies and project teams.
• A self-starter who can work autonomously while staying aligned with organisational goals and senior leadership's direction.

Required skills

• Competence in interpreting spatial data and turning findings into proposals.
• Use of GIS to manage, analyse and visualise spatial data.
