Project Site Engineer (Environmental Remediation)

About the role

The Project Site Engineer supports the Superintending Officer in managing remediation contracts for land decontamination projects. Acting as a key liaison between client and contractor, the role involves monitoring progress, validating deliverables, and assisting with environmental sampling and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Superintending Officer with contract administration and risk mitigation for remediation projects.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to inspect and monitor contractor work, including soil and groundwater treatment, excavations, and sampling.
• Validate contractor deliverables against technical and contractual requirements.
• Handle contractual matters such as extensions of time, loss and expense claims, and dispute resolution.
• Support field sampling of soil, water, and air for environmental site assessments.
• Prepare weekly summary reports, official correspondence, meeting minutes, and technical reports with figures and presentation slides.

Required profile

• Diploma, Specialist Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related fields.
• Up to 3 years of experience in construction site supervision, civil infrastructure or building development management.
• Experience managing subcontractors and resolving site‑related issues.
• Familiarity with PSSCOC or similar contract forms is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
