Reliability Engineer – Power & Water Assets

About the role

Sembcorp is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support the reliability and maintenance optimisation of its power generation and water treatment assets on Jurong Island. You will work closely with operations, maintenance and digital teams to drive data‑driven reliability initiatives and improve plant availability.

Key responsibilities

• Support asset reliability and maintenance optimisation across power generation assets (GT, HRSG, BOP, BESS) and water assets (wastewater treatment, effluent recovery, NEWater).
• Perform reliability analyses such as RCA, FMEA and RCM to identify failure modes, root causes and improvement opportunities.
• Analyse equipment performance, failure history and plant data, including predictive monitoring tools, to detect degradation trends.
• Develop and optimise maintenance strategies – preventive, predictive and reliability‑centred maintenance.
• Track and report reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, OEE) and support continuous improvement projects.
• Implement and enhance digital reliability tools and data‑driven monitoring systems for predictive asset maintenance.
• Maintain reliability‑related procedures, SOPs and workflows.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of experience in reliability, maintenance or plant engineering, preferably in power/utilities or process industries.
• Basic knowledge of thermal plant systems (GT, HRSG, BOP) and familiarity with BESS is an advantage.
• Proactive, self‑driven and adaptable to a plant environment.
