Senior Consultant - Data Management & Governance

About the role

Sia, a global management consulting group, is looking for a Senior Consultant focused on Data Governance and Management to join its Singapore office. The role helps regional and multinational clients navigate the Smart Nation initiative and evolving data privacy standards, advising on data architectures that are both technically sound and compliant with PDPA and cross-border data transfer requirements. It leads high-stakes projects across Southeast Asia while balancing technical implementation with knowledge of Singapore's regulatory sandboxes and data residency rules.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and run data governance models aligned with MAS TRM guidelines and PDPC Advisory Guidelines, supporting data sovereignty and accountability.
• Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy-by-design workflows under the PDPA and standards such as APEC CBPR.
• Drive identification and cataloguing of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across hybrid-cloud environments, with end-to-end data lineage for regulatory reporting and audits.
• Design automated data quality monitoring and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions supporting Singapore's Trusted Data Sharing frameworks.
• Partner with engineering teams on data governance during cloud migrations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), keeping data classification and access controls in place.
• Act as the main link between technical data teams and client Risk/Compliance officers, translating MAS or IMDA regulations into data management policies.
• Contribute to offer building, training, communities of practice and R&D, and support business development, needs definition and proposals.

Required profile

• 3-5 years' experience in Data Management and Governance or as a data analyst; proven experience in data management or governance roles.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in consulting is advantageous.
• English fluency; additional regional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with master data management, metadata, reference data management, data cataloguing and lineage, and data quality management.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, with a track record of delivering data solutions.
• Experience with data management and governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica and Alation.
• Familiarity with data security principles, encryption and access controls.
