Senior Engineer, Geotechnical

About the role

As a Senior Engineer, Geotechnical at AECOM, you will lead the development and design of geotechnical and structural elements for foundation systems, deep excavations, tunnelling and land reclamation projects. You will work under supervision while delivering high‑quality analyses, designs and documentation for complex infrastructure initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design geotechnical and structural elements for foundation systems, deep excavation, tunnelling and land reclamation works.
• Perform geotechnical analysis, calculations and design assessments including ground improvement works, foundation design, ERSS and instrumentation.
• Prepare detailed design reports, calculations and technical drawings for preliminary and detailed studies.
• Conduct site surveys, monitor instrumentation readings and manage risk assessments and feasibility studies.
• Liaise and coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities and project stakeholders to support design development and authority submissions.
• Assist with client management, satisfaction and weekly reporting on work programmes and project progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design for projects such as rail, land reclamation, etc.
• Familiar with numerical analysis of soil‑structure interaction.
• Conversant with local codes and authority submission procedures.
• Excellent technical and project management skills.
• Familiar with Plaxis and Slope/W.
• Conversant with statutory code and requirements for site supervision, quality control procedures and construction administration.
