Senior Food Coordinator

About the role

NHG is hiring a Senior Food Coordinator to make sure every patient's meal is prepared to the standards set by the hospital's management. The role supervises the outsourced kitchen assistant staff, coordinates meal orders and works closely with the dietitian and speech therapist on therapeutic diets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan duty rosters for kitchen assistants and train new ones
• Work with the dietitian and speech therapist on modified consistency and therapeutic diets
• Help set up and coordinate EMOS-related meetings with nursing, dietetics and speech therapy
• Ensure meals trolleys are chilled before assembly, meals are plated and dispatched on time, and extra-meal requests are handled within the stated timeframe
• Manage bulk meal orders for staff and help deliver meals to inpatients and in-house events
• Compile diet slips, meal orders and daily meal summaries, and assist with monthly meal statistics
• Handle enquiries and feedback by email, telephone and text, and attend to patient complaints with the supervisor and sous chef
• Lock receiving, office and kitchen doors before closing, and file records and take part in continuing education

Required profile

• Minimum GCE "N" / "O" Level or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in F&B and/or the hospital industry
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate as per NEA regulations
• Ability to work independently, communicate in written and spoken English, and understand basic spoken Chinese, Malay or Tamil
• Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance, strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
