Senior / Principal Engineer - Manufacturing Systems Engineering (RTD)

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for a Senior / Principal Engineer in Manufacturing Systems Engineering (RTD Engineer) to develop and enhance factory automation capabilities. The role builds intelligent real-time dispatching, scheduling and workflow execution systems so that information flows transparently across the fab and manufacturing operations run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Fab's Real-Time Dispatching (RTD) rules and automation workflows, integrated with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS), mobile robots and other CIM systems using Applied Materials' APF suite (RTD and Activity Manager for Automation)
• Work with cross-functional teams (Production Control, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Planning, Module Engineering, Yield Enhancement, CIM/IT) to build and optimize production rules that improve quality, cycle time, throughput and equipment utilization
• Ensure systems availability by handling system improvements, maintenance and recovery
• Install, patch, upgrade, integrate, support and troubleshoot engineering applications, and resolve reported issues
• Handle application administration and tuning: backups and restores, health monitoring and alerts, reporting and trending, and tuning in collaboration with IT DBAs and system administrators
• Review software and hardware periodically, set strategies and plans to exceed performance targets and renew them

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial or Operations Research Engineering, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams

Required skills

• Programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript.NET, ASP, ASP.NET, VBA, SQL
• Server installation and familiarity with Apache and Tomcat
• General knowledge of network infrastructure, RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server), Unix and Linux
• Advantageous: Applied Materials APF RTD and AMA, web services and SOA concepts, and knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (PROMIS, SiView) and semiconductor tools (MCS, SPC, FDC, APC, EIM, CMMS)
