Senior Software Developer (Credit & Risk)

About the role

Sopra Steria, a listed European technology group, is hiring a Senior Software Developer in Credit & Risk in Singapore. You will work for a client, a leading technology provider for private banking and wealth management serving financial institutions across Europe and Asia. The role covers designing, developing and maintaining software applications, translating business requirements into technical specifications and supporting project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Take part early in projects in workshops to capture client requirements and follow the project and product roadmap
• Author product design and technical specifications, support Business Analysts in analysis, solution proposals and cost estimation, and estimate effort and impacts for functional stories and change requests
• Identify project risks and plan mitigation with the Project Manager, and collaborate with Project Leads, Business Analysts and the wider IT team to resolve issues
• Provide technical guidance to the off-shore application development team and manage domain-level artifacts aligned to the client's methodology
• Develop medium to complex applications and run unit, integration and system tests
• Support clients during user acceptance testing, including enquiries, batch jobs in the simulation environment and error resolution
• Adhere to the client's methodology and contribute to continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Computer Science or IT
• 10+ years of software development experience, with a track record working with distributed delivery teams across geographies
• Experience in a banking environment, ideally private banking or wealth management
• Knowledge of private banking and wealth management products, mainly credit and risk systems
• Sound knowledge of Agile and DevOps, and strong programming, design, coding, testing and debugging skills
• Experience implementing core banking systems such as Temenos T24, Avaloq or Olympic for global clients is a plus
