Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

Pave Bank is seeking a hands‑on technical leader to own and evolve its platform infrastructure. The role combines strategic direction with deep involvement in design, implementation, and operation of critical systems on Google Cloud Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical direction of the platform infrastructure.
• Design, build, and maintain reliable services on GCP, including Kubernetes workloads and cloud networking (VPC, Cloud IPsec, KMS).
• Develop authentication systems using OAuth 2.0 in Go.
• Implement workflow orchestration with Temporal.
• Operate production databases on Cloud SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting for platform services.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and resolve production incidents.
• Mentor engineers and help set engineering standards as the team grows.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering.
• Proven technical leadership with ability to make architectural decisions.
• Comfortable remaining hands‑on rather than a pure people manager.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting production systems in a fast‑moving environment.
