Sustainability Manager - Data Centre Infrastructure

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Sustainability Manager for its data centre portfolio. The role owns the design, execution and delivery of environmental initiatives across the data centres, leads the onsite PMC and operations teams, drives the general contractor's green progress and handles day-to-day client interactions so that projects lower their carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency and meet global green standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create mid- and long-term sustainability plans for data centre locations and work with engineers to improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) in cooling and power systems
• Lead corporate power procurement such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and renewable energy certificates
• Manage Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon accounting across mission-critical sites
• Develop plans to reduce Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) and liquid cooling resource drains, and set up zero-waste and circular recycling pathways for server hardware and batteries
• Guide building operations to maintain LEED, BREEAM or Green Mark certifications
• Produce annual sustainability filings aligned with GRI, CDP, SASB and ISSB frameworks, and track changes in energy conservation acts and greenhouse gas rules

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
• 8 to 10+ years of experience in sustainability or energy systems management
• Strong background in data centres, critical infrastructure or large-scale cloud operations
• Solid understanding of data centre layouts, power backup systems, industrial chillers and regional renewable energy markets
• Ability to explain complex energy metrics clearly to corporate executives and international clients

Required skills

• Building certifications: LEED AP, Green Mark Manager, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred
• Data-driven energy modelling and emissions calculations in advanced Excel or ESG software
