System Engineer (Nutanix and Red Hat)

About the role

Assurity Trusted Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GovTech, provides infrastructure, operational, governance, assurance and cybersecurity services to government and commercial organisations. As a System Engineer focused on Day 2 Operations, you will maintain, optimise and keep stable the enterprise hybrid infrastructure, keeping business-critical Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) platforms secure, performant and resilient.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, proactively check health, tune performance and manage capacity of Nutanix HCI clusters (AOS/AHV) and RHEL environments
• Manage routine and emergency patching, kernel and firmware upgrades while following government security baselines and minimising downtime
• Write and maintain Ansible playbooks and Bash scripts to automate system administration, configuration and drift management
• Act as technical escalation point for complex incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes
• Manage, validate and test disaster recovery procedures and backup replication policies
• Work with application developers, security operators and infrastructure architects so platform changes fit Day 2 stability

Required profile

• 3-5 years of hands-on enterprise systems engineering, with strong emphasis on production infrastructure operations
• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator / Engineer (RHCSA / RHCE)
• Experience in a highly regulated environment or Singapore public sector context
• Willingness to join a scheduled on-call rotation for high-severity incidents

Required skills

• Nutanix AHV/ESXi, Prism Central and lifecycle management (LCM)
• RHEL administration: LVM storage, performance tuning, security hardening and troubleshooting
• Ansible for automation, configuration management and patching
• Networking (VLANs, routing), storage protocols and security principles
• Monitoring tools such as Nutanix Pulse, Prometheus/Grafana or Syslog
• Basic exposure to OpenShift or vanilla Kubernetes
