Technical Product & Application Expert

About the role

Lesaffre's Asia Pacific headquarters is based in Singapore and serves customers in the region, working closely with local bakers to create regional specialties. The Technical Product & Application Expert acts as the main technical liaison between Gnosis by Lesaffre and its customers and manufacturing partners across APAC and Greater China, bridging scientific expertise with practical application knowledge. The base location is flexible within APAC, with Singapore, Malaysia and China preferred, and 30-50% of the time is spent travelling.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance to commercial teams and deliver customized technical services such as formulation support, stability testing and application development.
• Support quality teams in resolving customer complaints through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Transfer analytical methods to external laboratories and customer sites.
• Act as the technical point of contact with contract manufacturers, translating specifications into manufacturing guidelines and providing on-site training and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with global R&D teams and manage product development projects from concept to commercial scale.
• Identify and qualify development and manufacturing partners, build a database of their capabilities and match partners to product needs.
• Centralize technical documentation, bridge commercial, R&D and quality teams, escalate complex issues to global R&D and contribute to marketing and new product launches.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology or a related field.
• 10+ years of technical experience in the nutraceutical, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record in formulation development for tablets, capsules, gummies and liquids, and in scaling formulations from lab to commercial production.
• High-level fluency in English and spoken Mandarin.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of nutraceutical and dietary supplement formulation, ingredient functionality and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements, quality systems and analytical testing for dietary supplement ingredients and probiotics.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for dietary supplements in APAC and preferably China.
• Project management, strong communication and problem-solving skills.
