Trainee, Development Services (Cell Culture)

About the role

Lonza is recruiting a Trainee in its Development Services team at the Science Park Facility in Singapore. Development Services covers three technical disciplines and support functions that develop processes enabling the manufacture of recombinant protein therapeutics; this role sits within Cell Culture Development, where the trainee is responsible for developing cell culture processes. The programme is a 15-month Career Conversion Program (CCP) with on-the-job training at the participating companies, and it is a fully site-based position.

Key responsibilities

• Follow EHS rules and regulations at all times
• Document results according to Lonza policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Ensure compliance with Quality and GxP requirements through established quality systems and regulatory standards
• Uphold data integrity principles and proactively evaluate, identify and improve data integrity processes
• Provide general laboratory support such as housekeeping, equipment maintenance and supply inventory
• With support from the Manager/Study Lead, plan and prioritise laboratory work, draft laboratory records aligned with the training plan, troubleshoot equipment issues and contribute to operational efficiency

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant science field or equivalent
• Individuals without prior work experience in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry may also apply
• Understanding of mammalian cell culture for the production of biopharmaceuticals
• Understanding of cGMP regulations
