Workplace Safety & Health Officer & Environmental Compliance Officer

About the role

The company is seeking a qualified Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) who will also serve as an Environmental Compliance Officer (ECO) on its construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead the implementation of EHS systems, promote a safety culture, and ensure compliance with Singapore’s regulatory framework.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project EHS performance and administer the WSH management system.
• Prepare and execute monthly EHS programmes, inspections and reports.
• Lead investigations of accidents, incidents and near‑misses and recommend preventive actions.
• Develop risk assessments, safe work procedures and emergency preparedness plans.
• Liaise with government agencies, clients and stakeholders on all EHS matters.
• Support internal and external audits, system certification audits and related certifications.
• Manage waste, pollution control and monitor environmental and health performance.
• Act as secretary for the project’s EHS Committee and coordinate award submissions.

Required profile

• Registered WSHO certification from MOM.
• Registered ECO certification from NEA.
• Registered ECMO certification from IES.
• At least 3 years post‑registration experience in building construction (public sector projects a plus).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels.
• Well‑versed in the WSH Act and subsidiary legislations.

Required skills

• Internal Auditor certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EHS‑related platforms.
• Other relevant WSH certifications.
