Accountant

About the role

Cummins is hiring an Accountant for its Tuas South office in Singapore, following an onsite start with a flexible work model. The role covers general accounting work to maintain the department's general ledger and financial analysis of the chart of accounts and financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, record and report accounting transactions in a timely manner.
• Prepare general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
• Answer questions from management, internal and external auditors, the Sarbanes-Oxley audit group and others about financial results and special reporting requests.
• Prepare tax reports such as income tax and GST, and other reports (ACAP, ECI, withholding tax), liaising independently with tax agents and partners (KPMG).
• Manage allocation and cross-charging across the four Singapore entities, including DBU business segments and departments.
• Support procurement reviews and fixed asset requisitions.
• Coordinate with local stakeholders within CSSPL and regional partners (CS, GIC, GCA, Tax) to resolve issues and ad hoc requests.

Required profile

• Degree, university or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimal relevant professional work experience in the field.
• Preferred: ability to interpret financial data, assess internal controls, evaluate financial regulations and US GAAP, and prepare tax reports.
• No cross-border support will be provided.
