Analyst / Senior Analyst, Cell Culture Development

About the role

Lonza Singapore's Cell Culture Development team within Development Services is looking for an Analyst or Senior Analyst. Development Services develops and characterises laboratory-scale manufacturing processes for novel therapeutic recombinant proteins. The role executes mammalian cell line and upstream process development and supports troubleshooting at laboratory and manufacturing scale. It is a laboratory position with in-person collaboration, and up to 20% of the time can be worked remotely for administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands-on laboratory work in the upstream cell culture team to develop processes suitable for cGMP manufacturing.
• Run routine mammalian cell culture processes, including subcultures and miniaturised bioreactors (AMBR15, AMBR250), rocking bioreactors and 10L laboratory-scale bioreactors.
• Understand cGMP manufacturing facility constraints and their impact on development.
• Contribute to process characterisation through supporting laboratory-scale studies.
• Interpret analytical data from the analytical team to define next steps.
• Work with site and global project teams to deliver project milestones on time.
• May work weekends and public holidays on a rotational schedule.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant science field or equivalent.
• Practical laboratory experience in cell culture and laboratory-scale bioreactor runs.
• Experience with culture conditions for mammalian suspension cells is beneficial.
• Good problem-solving, analytical and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of recombinant protein expression using mammalian cell culture systems.
• Good understanding of cGMP regulations.
