Assistant Manager (Strategy, Planning & Analytics)

About the role

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) is a government agency under the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry that promotes investment and industry development in Singapore. Its Singapore Global Network (SGN) builds overseas networks of Family, Friends and Fans of Singapore, and its Strategy, Planning and Analytics team oversees corporate strategy, work planning and data analytics. As Assistant Manager (SPA), you will help develop and implement SGN's strategies for community building and diaspora engagement, work with stakeholders on workplans, and track corporate KPI performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee secretariat duties for SGN's Steering Committee meetings and coordinate SGN's representation at Whole-of-Government platforms.
• Conduct environmental scanning, research and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities and implications for SGN.
• Support the formulation and review of SGN's corporate strategy and the translation of priorities into workplans, initiatives and measures of success.
• Develop strategy papers, management presentations and recommendations on emerging organisational issues.
• Monitor corporate KPIs, organisational priorities and workplan performance, and analyse operational, engagement and customer data to surface trends and performance gaps.
• Build and maintain management dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau or Excel, and turn analysis into clear recommendations.
• Support cross-functional projects, diagnose issues and develop recommendations, and help shape greenfield strategic initiatives and blue-sky projects.

Required profile

• University degree in any discipline; fresh graduates with relevant internship or project experience may apply.
• Singaporean.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, comfortable with quantitative and qualitative data.
• Intellectually curious, able to research unfamiliar subjects and synthesize information.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to present complex analysis clearly.
• Ability to work independently on defined workstreams and to influence without formal authority.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Excel is expected.
• Familiarity with Tableau, SQL, Python or other analytics tools is advantageous.
