EDB Associate Programme 2027

About the role

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a government agency under the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, runs a 10-month Associate Programme (AP) to build the foundations of a career at EDB. It combines structured training, personalised mentorship and rotations across different areas of EDB's work, giving participants first-hand exposure to how EDB works with companies, industries and partners. There are two intakes: 1 March 2027 to 31 December 2027 and 16 August 2027 to 15 June 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Investment Promotion: engage directly with companies, build relationships with senior business leaders, analyse industry trends, structure project proposals and negotiate terms of commitment to Singapore.
• Industry Development: map industry ecosystems, identify capability or talent gaps and work with companies and trade associations to strengthen economic sectors.
• Policy and Planning: work on frameworks, policies and incentives that attract and retain investment, and help chart Singapore's long-term economic trajectory.
• All Associates receive foreign language training.

Required profile

• Fresh graduates and early careerists with less than two years of experience at the start of the programme; graduates from all disciplines, including STEM, humanities and social sciences.
• Singapore citizens and permanent residents.
• Learning agility, critical thinking, resilience, resourcefulness, initiative and ownership.
• Proficiency in a third language is advantageous but not required.

Successful candidates join EDB on a contract basis; permanent appointments, where offered, depend on performance. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and are encouraged to be submitted early.
