Biotechnologist 20K (Mammalian) - Tuas

About the role

Lonza's Integrated Biologics team at its Tuas site in Singapore is hiring a Biotechnologist for its Mammalian Manufacturing operations. You will support the production of therapeutic proteins under cGMP conditions and gain hands-on experience with advanced biotechnology processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cGMP manufacturing operations, including equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting and batch documentation.
• Run mammalian cell culture processes, monitoring bioreactors for pH, dissolved oxygen, CO2/O2 levels and cell performance.
• Carry out downstream purification such as chromatography, filtration and pH/conductivity adjustments.
• Apply aseptic techniques for material handling and cell culture while maintaining cleanroom standards.
• Use process control systems such as UNICORN and DeltaV, and complete SOPs, logbooks and batch records accurately.
• Prepare buffers, media and manufacturing solutions, and support equipment setup and CIP activities.
• Maintain facility and laboratory standards through sanitization and 6S housekeeping.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of biopharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Experience in a manufacturing, laboratory or cleanroom environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with cGMP practices and regulated manufacturing environments.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, good communicator, and willing to work in a rotating 12-hour shift pattern.
