Customer Technical Service & Market Development

About the role

A global specialty chemicals and petrochemicals manufacturer is looking for an experienced technical and commercial professional for a hybrid regional role based in Singapore. The position covers customer technical support, application development and market expansion across the Asia Pacific region, combining technical service, business development, market intelligence and innovation. It reports to the regional leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and application expertise to customers across Asia Pacific
• Identify new market opportunities, applications and growth segments
• Work with commercial, manufacturing, supply chain and product stewardship teams to deliver customer solutions
• Lead customer trials, product evaluations and application development projects
• Monitor market trends, competitive technologies and industry developments
• Deliver technical presentations, product training and customer workshops
• Support product commercialisation, customer qualification and issue resolution

Required profile

• Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in chemicals, specialty chemicals, lubricants, additives or related industries
• Experience in technical service, product development, market development, R&D, manufacturing or application engineering
• Proven ability to turn technical knowledge into business value and manage customer projects across cross-functional teams

Required skills

• Strong understanding of industrial applications and customer technical support processes
• Strong presentation, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities
• Track record of driving innovation, application development and new business growth
