Engineering Manager - Manufacturing / Production

About the role

A leading precision engineering and solutions provider in Singapore is hiring an Engineering Manager for its manufacturing and production site in the South West area (Buroh). The role leads a team of manufacturing and process engineers and technicians and works closely with plant leadership, production and quality teams. It is a permanent, full-time position with working hours Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of manufacturing and process engineers and technicians.
• Set engineering priorities aligned with production schedules, quality goals and business KPIs.
• Work with plant leadership on long-term manufacturing strategy (capacity, automation, footprint).
• Analyse production data to find root causes of downtime, defects or bottlenecks.
• Implement standardised work, error-proofing (poka-yoke) and rapid changeover techniques.
• Resolve daily technical issues with Production and improve throughput; address non-conformances with Quality and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain master documents, plant layouts, work instructions and equipment records.
• Establish engineering standards for material selection, tolerances and vendor qualifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven ability to lead technical root-cause analysis (8D, DMAIC).
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to shop floor and executive audiences.
• Decisive under pressure, with a bias for action in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI.
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems for routing and BOM management.
