Food Assistant, Kitchen (1 Year Contract)

About the role

IKEA Alexandra in Singapore is hiring a Food Assistant for its kitchen, on a one-year full-time contract. The role keeps the kitchen area clean, tidy and organised, prepares hot and cold dishes, stocks products and condiments, and serves customers behind the hot line while following food safety and hygiene rules.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the area of responsibility clean, tidy, organised and inviting at all times.
• Contribute to the department's action plan and take ownership of its delivery.
• Help and support colleagues, share knowledge and cooperate with colleagues in other parts of the store.
• Look for more effective ways of working to reduce costs and be cost-conscious.
• Follow internal rules, policies and daily operational routines on quality and food safety as set by the manager.
• Serve customers behind the hot line with a smile and keep customers in focus.
• Prepare hot and cold dishes as assigned.
• Stock products and condiments, keeping them in good condition and replenishing them on time.
• Work rotating shifts and support retail operations during peak periods on public holidays and on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Carry out other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Friendly or outgoing personality to serve customers.
• Team player willing to help others achieve goals.
• Physically fit and able to carry heavy items.
• High standard of personal grooming to meet food safety and hygiene standards.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and organise individual work duties efficiently.
