Food Assistant - Swedish Food Market & Bistro (1 Year Contract)

About the role

IKEA Alexandra in Singapore is hiring a Food Assistant for its Swedish Food Market (SFM) and Bistro on a 1-year full-time contract. Reporting to the SFM & Bistro Manager, you will help run the daily operations of the food outlet, keeping the work area tidy, serving food of high quality and giving excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Take orders through the cash register at the Swedish Food Market and bistro counter
• Help prepare meal ingredients and keep food preparation areas clean and hygienic
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas according to hygiene standards
• Unload delivered food supplies, check stock inventory and ensure accuracy
• Practice First-In-First-Out (FIFO) to keep food fresh and of high quality
• Follow operating procedures and contribute to Quality, Service and Cleanliness (Q.S.C.) standards in line with food safety and hygiene practices
• Assist with store operations and the Functional Commercial Review Standards

Required profile

• Motivated, responsible and able to manage your time well
• Good team player who can also work independently
• Able to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced food environment
• Willing to work AM/PM shifts, including weekends and public holidays
