About the role

Raffles Hotel Singapore's 1887 by André restaurant, a heritage gastronomy venue led by chef André Chiang, is hiring a Food & Beverage Service Associate. The role delivers friendly, personalised and efficient service according to the hotel's Standard Operating Procedures, meeting guest expectations and contributing to the outlet's financial and operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality service to all guests, greet and bid farewell courteously, and remember guest names and preferences
• Offer menu options and advice, take accurate orders and double-check them before sending tickets to the kitchen
• Serve food and drinks correctly, arrange tables, keep side stations stocked and clean, and polish silver and glassware
• Check guest satisfaction, pick up checks, and deliver checks and reports at the end of the shift
• Follow opening, closing and side duties, and use a Heartist approach to welcome guests
• Upsell actively, relay guest complaints to the manager immediately, and keep the area safe and clean
• Perform ad hoc duties such as cleaning equipment, exchanging linen, assisting with stock counts and collecting requisitions
• Take part in training, attend daily briefings and monthly meetings, and follow the colleague handbook and emergency procedures

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in hospitality or a related field, or at least 6 months of hands-on food service experience
• Retail or guest interaction experience
• Personal interest in food and/or beverage; bartending experience is an advantage
• Spoken and written English, reliable, neat appearance, team player and flexible

Required skills

• Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and culinary trends
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
