Head of Group Business, Accident and Health

About the role

AIG is looking for a Head of Group Business, Accident and Health (A&H) to lead and motivate a team of high-performing people and shape the growth of its A&H business. The role sits in the Underwriting function, where AIG teams help customers find insurance solutions in A&H, Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber and Multinational Clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Group A&H team and lead strategies to accelerate growth, being fully accountable for the P&L of the Group A&H business.
• Identify growth opportunities and develop distribution solutions suited to the country environment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, reinsurers and other stakeholders at C-Suite level.
• Work with international brokers and facility partners to underwrite and administer Group BTA and GPA, and corporate businesses within AIG's underwriting guidelines.
• Follow all underwriting procedures and compliance protocols.
• Cooperate with administration, legal, claims, finance and accounting to ensure awareness of underwriting and business activity standards.
• Deliver reports and compliance tasks to internal stakeholders on time, and take on ad-hoc special projects as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in Group Accident and Health sales, business development or underwriting; candidates with underwriting and/or business development experience have an added advantage.
• Sound knowledge of Group Accident and Health products and underwriting methodology.
• Proven track record building relationships with intermediaries such as brokers, agents and financial advisors, and growing new business and retaining renewals.
• Outgoing, team player with good management skills, strong communication, negotiation, presentation and analytical abilities, and a customer-centric mindset.
