Laboratory Manager (Environmental Chemistry), MeChem

About the role

Eurofins Scientific, an international life sciences company offering analytical testing services, is hiring a Laboratory Manager for its Environmental Chemistry laboratory in Singapore. The role covers compliance, quality assurance, day-to-day operations, equipment oversight, staff leadership and client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies, SAC-SINGLAS requirements, quality standards and EHS regulations, and support audits, CAPA implementation and continuous quality improvement.
• Manage daily operations so samples are processed on time and tests are accurate, supervise testing, equipment scheduling, housekeeping and resources, and review technical data and test reports before approval.
• Coordinate proficiency testing, method verification and quality control, and keep instruments maintained, calibrated and fit for use.
• Lead strategic planning, improvement plans and the introduction of new work areas and test methods aligned with business and customer needs.
• Supervise sections, train and evaluate staff, plan manpower, recruit and lead by example.
• Liaise between laboratory teams and management, and engage with clients on test results and technical support.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science or equivalent, with at least 8 years of related laboratory experience.
• Experience with method-related tasks and minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience in audit and CAPA management, and ability to interact with operational, scientific and management personnel.

Required skills

• SAC Singlas signatory and good knowledge of SAC-SINGLAS/ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, laboratory quality systems and equipment management.
• Excellent knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
• Ability to multitask.
