Postdoctoral Fellow – Single-Cell Transcriptomics for Target & Biomarker Discovery

About the role

Join a leading biopharmaceutical research team in Singapore to advance cancer biology and therapeutic target discovery using cutting‑edge single‑cell transcriptomics. As a Postdoctoral Fellow you will integrate cellular models, functional perturbations and high‑throughput sequencing to generate novel biomarkers and inform drug development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute loss‑of‑function and gain‑of‑function perturbation studies using RNAi, CRISPR knockout and CRISPR activation in cell lines and disease models.
• Develop, optimise and run high‑throughput single‑cell RNA‑seq workflows for perturbation experiments.
• Analyse single‑cell and multi‑omics data in partnership with data scientists to uncover disease mechanisms and generate biomarker hypotheses.
• Characterise target effects with molecular assays such as qRT‑PCR, immunoassays, Western blot, microscopy and high‑content imaging.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular or cell biology, functional genomics or a related discipline.
• Strong publication record demonstrating ability to drive research from concept to dissemination.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, nucleic acid isolation and functional perturbation techniques (RNAi, CRISPR).

Required skills

• Single‑cell RNA‑seq workflow development.
• RNAi, CRISPR knockout and CRISPR activation.
• qRT‑PCR, immunoassays, Western blot, microscopy, high‑content imaging.
• Use of Agilent Bioanalyzer or TapeStation for nucleic‑acid QC.
• Working with organoids and other 3D cellular disease models.
