Process Engineer (Fixed Term, 12 Months)

About the role

Lonza is hiring a Process Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to join its Process Engineering team at the Singapore Tuas site. This is a fully site-based role supporting the manufacture of biologics products, working closely with MSAT, Automation, QA, Maintenance, OPEX, EHS and Manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational and process support for manufacturing systems such as bioreactors, purification equipment, media and buffer systems, heat/cooling systems and CIP/SIP equipment.
• Develop and implement best practices to improve manufacturing success rates, maintain compliance, ensure a safe work environment and control costs.
• Support daily operations and maintenance in a cGMP environment, including process and equipment changes, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and deviation investigation.
• Participate in and lead investigations (contaminations, observations, deviations, discrepancies) and propose CAPAs.
• Propose and evaluate improvements to equipment, processes and operations.
• Coordinate commissioning, IQ and OQ phases, hand over completed projects and documents to users and Maintenance, and close out projects.
• Supervise outside contractors on capital projects and plant modifications.
• Take part in new customer tech transfers and risk assessments, and review GMP-controlled documents such as SOPs, batch records and qualification protocols.
• Support the team on audits and inspections at all times.

Required profile

• Degree in an engineering discipline or diploma with process engineering experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, preferably in biopharmaceutical or petrochemical facilities.
• Good understanding of process equipment design and operation.
