Procurement Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager will partner with stakeholders across the university to deliver strategic procurement outcomes that support SIT's mission and objectives. This fixed‑term role leads initiatives from sourcing to contract award while ensuring compliance, transparency and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for assigned divisions, providing timely advice and developing strategies aligned with university goals.
• Analyse spend, prepare reports and presentations, and drive cost optimisation, risk mitigation and value‑creation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining internal controls and supporting audits.
• Build trusted relationships with divisions, enhance procurement capability through outreach and promote best practices.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities, champion continuous improvement and explore AI, automation and digital technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• 8–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in education or the public sector.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, contract management and contract law.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA Material Management (MM).
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with e‑procurement platforms such as Ivalua, Coupa, GEP or Ariba (preferred).
