Project Officer / Research Assistant – Finance & Accounting

About the role

The Energy Research Institute at NTU is seeking a diligent Project Officer/Research Assistant to support finance and accounting functions across its research programmes. You will play a key role in claim administration, budgeting, and compliance for funded projects, ensuring timely reporting and efficient use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Submit claims and audit reports to funders within required timelines.
• Liaise with auditors, funders, and other external parties.
• Assist in grant audits and create account/variation requests in the RISE system.
• Monitor project budgets, support procurement activities, and present monthly claim status.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinate with funding agencies, principal investigators, and researchers.
• Collaborate with PIs on budgeting, KPIs, milestones, and other finance matters.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or business administration.
• At least one year of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and a proactive, self‑starting attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Professional ethics and commitment to confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP (preferred).
