About the role
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Associate to support the Cities of Tomorrow (CoT) R&D project, Vertical 5: City in Nature. The role focuses on generating resilient urban solutions and advancing research on natural ecosystems in the context of climate change.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and conduct field tests, including on‑site data collection and documentation.
- Capture photographic data and create accurate 3D models using photogrammetry techniques.
- Compile, organise, and maintain experimental and field‑test data in structured databases.
- Support data processing and analysis with appropriate computational tools.
- Assist in budget preparation and expenditure tracking for the project.
- Contribute to technical reports, research deliverables, and peer‑reviewed journal manuscripts.
- Collaborate closely with project team members to ensure timely, high‑quality outputs.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a STEM‑related discipline (e.g., engineering, science, computer science).
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑based research environment and participate in fieldwork.
- Strong attention to detail for data collection, recording, and management.
- Good written and oral communication skills for technical reporting and publications.
- Valid Class 3 driving licence and willingness to travel for field tests.
Required skills
- Working knowledge of MATLAB for data processing.
- Proficiency in Python for analysis and scripting.
- Experience with photogrammetry techniques and related software.
- Ability to develop 3D models from photographs using 3D modelling software.
