Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at NTS Singapore you will ensure supplier compliance, capability and product quality across the supply base, focusing on manufacturing and machining components. You will lead qualification, audits and corrective actions while supporting new product introductions and engineering changes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, onboarding and part approval processes including APQP, PPAP and First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Conduct supplier audits (system, process and product) and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Drive supplier corrective actions (SCAR) using structured problem‑solving tools such as 8D and root‑cause analysis.
• Monitor, analyse and improve supplier quality performance through metrics, scorecards and regular reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve process capability, reduce defects and enhance overall quality performance.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 QMS requirements, including internal audits and documentation.
• Partner with engineering, supply chain and production teams to resolve quality issues and support NPI activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with strong exposure to supplier quality management.
• Hands‑on experience in supplier audits, qualification processes and corrective‑action management.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills; ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Required skills

• APQP, PPAP, First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Supplier corrective action (SCAR) and 8D problem‑solving.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and machining processes (CNC, precision components).
