Technical Services Engineer (COC) - Inflight Entertainment

About the role

Singapore Airlines is looking for a Technical Services Engineer (COC) to oversee the availability of its Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems. The role involves daily monitoring of aircraft IFEC health, coordinating maintenance with providers, supporting operations and acting as the interface between vendors, MROs and aircraft OEMs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily the health status of aircraft IFEC systems and make sure failure alerts are attended to.
• Work with IFEC maintenance providers (MRO) to ensure timely maintenance and defect rectification, and provide technical support as required.
• Meet and greet inbound aircraft with significant IFEC issues to investigate the cause, and provide summaries and reports to management.
• Manage and assign tasks to the IFEC Rangers.
• Coordinate VVIP sweep checks and respond to VVIP feedback.
• Audit the effectiveness of IFEC maintenance and preventive checks, and analyse defects to spot emerging in-service issues.
• Recommend inflight and line-station resets for IFEC outages, and help prioritise defects and planned works.
• Review defects with vendors and recommend troubleshooting steps, and coordinate ground time and resources for connectivity antenna replacements.
• Act as the interface between IFEC vendors, MROs and aircraft OEMs.

Required profile

• Honours degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in airline operations and/or aircraft maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform shift work to support the aircraft operational schedule.
• Excellent team player with analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently.
• Class 3 driving licence.
