About the role
Join SMIT Salvage, a global leader in marine salvage, as a Naval Architect. You will provide independent naval architectural support for salvage and wreck removal projects from tender through execution, working both from our Singapore office and on‑site at incident locations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform technical feasibility calculations for salvage projects during the tender phase, considering vessel condition, environmental factors and client requirements.
- Develop and design technical solutions for project‑specific challenges such as damage repair, towing connections, and lifting plans.
- Use modelling software to collect data, run complex calculations and produce detailed design documentation.
- Guide and assess subcontractors during preparation and execution, ensuring compliance with safety, health, environmental and quality policies.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of salvage equipment, methods and knowledge.
Required profile
- Minimum degree in Naval Architecture or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in naval architecture or shipbuilding, with demonstrable constructional expertise.
