Research Associate / Fellow – Cancer Prevention & Early Detection

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate or Research Fellow to join its newly established Research Institute for Cancer Prevention, Screening and Early Detection. The role focuses on developing and evaluating targeted multi‑cancer screening strategies within primary‑care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Support a feasibility study in primary care to tailor multi‑cancer screening based on individual risk profiles, including data analysis and interpretation.
• Develop trial‑specific materials such as cancer risk communication reports.
• Assist with patient recruitment, delivery of interventions, and follow‑up of study participants.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, reports and publications in line with grant requirements.
• Prepare reports, presentations and manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals and lay audiences.
• Ensure compliance with university ethical standards, Good Clinical Practice guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clinicians, behavioural scientists, patient partners and industry collaborators to achieve project outcomes.

Required profile

• Masters or PhD in health services research, precision medicine, implementation science or a related discipline (e.g., medicine, nursing, public health, social sciences).
• Experience in health services, population health or implementation research, including design and conduct of research projects.
• Familiarity with primary‑care settings in Singapore or internationally.
• Leadership abilities to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using statistical software packages.
• Knowledge of NVivo for qualitative data analysis.
