Total Rewards Business Partner, APAC

About the role

OpenAI is seeking an APAC Total Rewards Business Partner to lead compensation initiatives and support regional benefits execution. Based in Singapore, the role uses a hybrid work model with three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted Total Rewards advisor across APAC, providing strategic guidance on compensation, benefits, and market practices.
• Support development of base pay structures, incentive programs, equity frameworks, and other compensation programs.
• Partner with the International Benefits Lead to implement and operate APAC benefits programmes, including vendor coordination and employee communications.
• Lead compensation and benefits benchmarking and market analysis across APAC, translating insights into recommendations.
• Collaborate with Recruiting and HRBPs on offer design, compensation decisions, and approvals.
• Ensure effective administration, governance, data integrity, and regulatory compliance of Total Rewards programs.
• Develop communications to help employees understand compensation processes and benefits enrollment.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and scale Total Rewards processes and tools.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, or broader Total Rewards, supporting multiple APAC markets.
• Strong understanding of APAC compensation and benefits practices, market dynamics, and regulatory considerations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across HR, Recruiting, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Operations.
• Orientation toward scalable processes, automation, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and building solutions in a fast‑moving environment.
