Vice President, Account Management - Travel & Commerce (Asia Pacific)

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Vice President, Account Management, Travel & Commerce (Asia Pacific) to lead strategic customer relationships across the region, with a focus on online travel, digital commerce and B2B payments. The role combines strategic account leadership, business development and people leadership, with accountability for protecting and growing established relationships while identifying new opportunities. It involves shaping account strategy, building growth pipelines and leading complex opportunities from business case through commercial negotiation and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and commercial direction for a portfolio of strategic online travel and digital commerce customers across Asia Pacific, driving growth in B2B payments through volume, revenue and market share.
• Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and C-suite stakeholders, positioning Mastercard as a strategic partner to sophisticated digital businesses.
• Identify and lead new business opportunities, from strategy and business-case development through structuring, negotiation, contracting and execution.
• Lead and develop a team of senior account management professionals, setting strategic direction and enabling delivery against customer and commercial objectives.
• Partner with Commercial New Payment Flows, Product, Services, Marketing and other regional and global teams to develop solutions and commercial propositions aligned with customer needs.
• Use business case modelling, performance data and commercial insights to inform decisions and spot growth opportunities.
• Navigate complex cross-functional, multi-market environments, bringing together the right stakeholders and resources to progress opportunities and resolve barriers.
• Monitor portfolio performance against commercial objectives, identify risks and opportunities and act to maintain momentum.
• Represent the customer perspective internally while maintaining strong commercial discipline and ensuring sustainable value for Mastercard and its partners.

Required profile

• Proven track record of owning and growing complex, commercially significant customer relationships, with accountability for revenue, volume or other commercial outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in business development, strategic account management or commercial partnerships, ideally with payments, digital commerce, fintech, travel or other technology-led businesses.
• Established people leader with experience developing senior talent and building high-performing teams.
• Credibility and executive presence to influence C-suite and senior stakeholders in sophisticated digital, technology or payments-led organisations.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership and focus on outcomes.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the payments and card ecosystem; exposure to B2B payments, virtual cards, commercial payments or travel payment flows is highly valued.
• Commercial acumen to structure business cases, lead complex negotiations and drive opportunities to execution.
• Strong analytical, communication and influencing skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
